Art began his career in 1976 as a machinist apprentice in Pennsylvania’s state-certified apprenticeship program. Over four years of intensive technical training, he earned certification as a Journeyman Machinist, building the foundation for a lifelong career in manufacturing.
That early experience shaped his leadership philosophy—grounded in precision, accountability, and understanding how real manufacturing systems operate under pressure. From there, he advanced through progressively responsible roles in manufacturing operations, production leadership, and executive management across advanced manufacturing and defense environments.
His experience spans the full manufacturing lifecycle: machining and precision manufacturing, production operations and scheduling, quality systems and ISO 9000 compliance, defense manufacturing programs, testing and production validation, workforce development and training systems, and executive operational leadership. Along the way, he supported manufacturing work for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Special Operations Command, helped strengthen quality systems, and led complex production efforts that required accuracy and speed.
Today, he serves as Chief Production Officer, General Manager, and Facility Security Officer for Knight’s Armament Company, where he oversees company operations, manufacturing execution, production planning, quality systems, workforce development, and facility security. He also founded ER Manufacturing Consulting to share that experience with organizations that need practical, execution-focused support.
Unlike traditional consultants, Art’s perspective is built from direct responsibility for production outcomes—not observation. He understands both the strategic and operational layers of manufacturing because he has lived both.
